Dear all

My daughter and I thought it time to update my pic against my name - I thought we had chosen Jack, our dog, but it looks as though I've been over-ruled, when I wasn't looking 😉 😉 cheeky girl.

So I present to you all, ONE of our lovely four chookens, this one is Nugget. Or Nuggzy to her friends. You may all call her Nuggzy. 🙂

dear Neil my friend, I hope that your daughter likes the photo of Mindy, and I'm sorry I have forgotten what type of dog Jack is, but on Dr. Harry there are people who have puppies that love the chooks running around them so can you combine them maybe. lol. Geoff.

I was telling my daughter about Nuggzy now being the star of the show in my pic box - and how I thought it was going to be Jacky boy. She thought that was pretty funny.

But now I look at Nuggz and think, 'hmmmm, maybe having a cute chooken against my pic doesn't quite fit me'.

She is awfully cute though and is the leader of all four chookens.

CHOOKA CHOOK

Chooka chook had an angry look

as she washed the dishes dry

her friend, Pecky the hen, was taken away to be fried.

So Rooty rooster came to pass

and saw Chooka sad

He said "dont be sad, be glad,

you havent been cooked or baked until

your skin is black...

Unlike Daffy duck that was baked till he couldnt quack.

Chooka chook no longer sooked

she did her dishes fast

she never cried while she kept her hide....

she lived each day as her last......

Hi Jo,

Thankyou. Unfortunately of the 300 or so poems I have written over the last 22 years only a few are funny ones. some are about ANZAC, world wars, childrens, Australiana, sadness, etc. So for this site I select them carefully.

But here is another. I dont think I've posted this one before.

THE BLACK WIDOW

The male black widow spider

tried all his life

he tried to tickle the hairy legs

of his larger black widow wife.

Finally he had a win

something at last to gloat

She began to laugh aloud

as his leg slid down her throat.

Poor little male black widow

was always to get into strife

all because he didnt understand

the nature of his hairy wife....

and some are about love. like this short one

LITTLE FEATHER

Little feather left and right

and she falls slowly in the night

coming from a nest above

a bed of twigs and a world of love.

Down she falls to the ground

a gust of wind to toss her around

the as the sun shone to dry her out

the lighter she was to get out and about

Then along came a magpie in his glee

to collect feather for his nest you see

to place it where his purpose best

to warm the heart where baby bird rests....

I'm glad you like my pic and it makes you feel happy 🙂 Autumn is my favourite time of year because I just love the colours of the leaves.

I've been pretty busy lately, but I'm managing ok. How are you doing?
