I would like to askpeople who are depressed and have suffered from chronic debilitating nausea, what steps they took to overcoming this problem. I would also like to hear from people who have recovered from depression and what were the main steps that helped them recover.

Thank you

There are on many occasions we have new members who areso kind to reply to a person, but also have some form of depression, and this extends to many other illness's that are associated with this disease, but are too afraid to post their own comment, which is a real shame, because they are hurting so badly inside, so I implore you to come back and post your own comment.

You can't suffer by yourself with this illness, because it only gets deeper and deeper for you to try and handle all those problems that just won't go away, so please I'm almost begging you to post a new thread.

This thread of mine won't be on page 1 for too long, as it will keep getting pushed down the list and end up on page 2, and then page 3.

There are too many names to mention that only have had one reply to someone else seeking help, and even if I mentioned a few, it would be so easy to miss someone out, so that wouldn't be appropriate for me to even begin.

So please consider joining us and we will endeavour to do all we can to try and help you. Geoff.

dear BulldogsGirl, thanks for responding, and possibly over the week-end your comment may take a little longer, but what I want to urge is that it's very important you post a comment, because we want to help you as much as we can, and I have written down your username and will keep on eye on what you post.

Hi BulldogsGirl,

Welcome to the forums. You're correct, this forum is moderated as are all major mental health forums in Australia. We have to be sure that what's being posted doesn't breach our community rules, which are here to keep all our members safe, including yourself. Have a look at the video below for an idea of how the forum works.

In terms of how long it takes, all posts go through a software filter that scans the content for
potential breaches of the community rules and member terms, particularly
with regard to distress and safety. If your post clears the filter, it
will appear almost straight away. If it does not, it is held back for
moderation before posting.
This can take between 12-18 hours.

We have thousands of new members joining each month, and as you can see from the number of threads, plenty of discussions happening and a very supportive community, so I'd encourage you to reach out, either via our forums or by using our support service through the link at the top right.

dear Wolfchild, she always gets lovely comments and when she is lying down she looks like a jig-saw because there are so many spots on here that remind me of a jig-saw.

Her real name is Mindy but has a nickname which I often use on this site and it's Moo-Moo and always lets me know (if I can't hear the phone) when the phone rings making these high pitch noises, which I have to laugh at every time, do you have any pets yourself.

Clever Mindy 🙂

Yes I have two canines. One is an elderly Staffy who has claimed the long end of the couch closest to the TV, the other a baby girl Shepherd who likes to run 123kms around the backyard every day. At 14 months she is 30+ kilos and counting. She is Security Officer and a bodyguard for the Staffy. Although right now she is sitting at the front door with a teddy bear in her mouth whining that it is afternoon tea time, so she doesn't exactly look fearsome! That will come soon eough though. I have trained many dogs for companions and security and Shepherds aren't even half sensible until they are 18 months old. I love this adolescent-puppy stage. You can teach them anything and the whole world is a mass of curious wonders to them. Even an empty chip packet holds endless fascination - although not as much as a full one.

Anyway please give Moo-Moo a hug from Wolfchild and tell her I said she is very clever.

Hope you are well too...I always forget to ask about the human/s of the pack!

dear 12barblues, hi and welcome.

Chris has provided so posts for you to look at which will be very informative to you.

Myself, well so many antidepressants (AD) I have tried have made me feel very nauseated and how I hated this feeling, so the doctor gave me some anti-nausea tablets which only made me throw up, then I felt better, so now if I feel this way that's exactly what I do, sounds awful I know, but it's better than trying to take or even do to make me feel better.

I perish the thought of starting a new medication, because I always think that I will become nauseated.

How do we overcome our depression, well it's different for everybody, but for myself, I think the main reason was that my wife had divorce me and our house had been sold, so I had to obviously move, and decided to rent to for a short time and then buy another property, but I got stuck in the rental market and had to fend for myself, and this certainly helped me a great deal.

I then met some old people I used to work with in same way and they needed help and had no one to help them, so then I took on this role, although I wasn't their official carer, but I just did it.

They wanted to pay me but I refused. Geoff.
