links taking me somewhere else

I've been trying to access a thread started by Matty, but every time I click the link it takes me to another thread on a different topic started by someone else.

I have never had this happen before. The thread it takes me to doesn't even appear anywhere else on the forum list that I can see...

Is this happening to anyone else or just me???

Hi scorch,

We have been unable to reproduce this error at our end, if any users are experiencing this, please reply to this thread and provide as much information as you can about what is happening eg. what thread you are trying to access and which one you are being taken to.

I can say that this happened a few times to me.

I'll be going through the depression forum, reading the highlghted threads with new replies but not actually replying to any yet. I'll click a thread ( let's name this Thread A) and then continue and read a few more. I'll then try click the next thread, from the depression forum homepage, Thread B. Instead of loading that Thread B, it will display Thread A. I'll try going back and reclicking Thread B.

I have tried both clicking 'back' on my browser ( Mozilla Firefox) and clicking the link on the word 'Depression' at the top of the page to get back to the Depression homepage. I have also tried clicking on other threads, both highlighted and \non highlighted and they load fine. I try Thread B and it still loads Thread A. The only way I can load Thread B that I have found is to wait an hour or so, re login and then it will load fine. I don't know if it is the time passing or the relogging in that fixes it.

I wish I could tell you which threads they were, but this last happened to me about a week ago so I don't remember. I think it may have been a thread by Scorch I was trying to access and a thread by Stressless kept appearing instead. However the other time this happened before, it has been different threads and different users.

Next time this happens I will try logging out immediately and logging back in to see if that is what fixes it. I will also see if clearing my cache helps. I'll also post on here if it happens to me again, but it happens at random for me so I don't when that will be.

Hi Chris

I logged out and back in but it kept happening, I clicked the link several times with that same result... and then the issue suddenly fixed itself after about half an hour.

If it helps, I also use Mozilla Firefox as a browser. Perhaps it has something to do with that?

Hi scorch,

Thanks for letting us know, can you tell us what thread this was happening in? Next time this occurs, if you are also able to reply here and say 'this is where it is happening right now' that will help us greatly in diagnosing the problem. It sounds like the issue may be intermittent. Thanks for your patience.

Hi Chris. I reported the issue using the 'report post' button at the time and received a reply. The thread I was trying to access was 'Just got some news' by mattyj and it was taking me to a thread by Hazard Cat.

If it happens again I will let you know straight away 🙂

Hi GA, thanks, we're still trying to see if we can work out what happened. Can you remember if you were trying to access the thread directly from the 'Depression' forum, or were you trying to access it from 'New posts' or one of the other tabs?

Hi Chris,

I was accessing it straight from the depression forum. I was in another post, hit the word depression to take me back to the depression forum and then tried to access genimo's post. I had accessed harry's thread a few posts previously.

If it matters I am accessing the siteon a tablet, though the last time this happened it happened on my laptop.

This is happening again.

I am trying to access the post in the depression forum, from the depression home page called 'I am a failure' by Iamsotired. Instead it brings me to 'Anxiety and Self Esteem" by Tsarism in the anxiety forums.

I have tried logging out and in but no cigar. I am going to have a shower and hopefully when I get back it will have fixed itself. ;)

Just thought I should report this anyway.

Thanks GA, this error appears to have resolved itself again, but we will continue to investigate what may be happening to cause this intermittent error.
