topic Lockdown / isolation / university assessments in Welcome and orientation

I'm studying at the moment but I'm stuck in Melbourne lockdown. I failed a double credit point unit last year in stage for lockdown and repeating it now. Before this fourth lockdown, I was going into the university library and local libraries because I hate being stuck at home thanks to last year's covid restrictions. It's traumatic being confined to a room for so long, I feel sorry for people in prisons or animals limited to small areas. I leave the house to grab a coffee daily just to interact and be surrounded by people. I'm scared of failing the unit again. My university mental health consultations are all booked out until late June. I feel so helpless in these circumstances.

Hi pancakes7

Welcome to the forums. I too live in Melbourne, and this fourth lockdown has been quite a nuisance to a lot of Victorians. I feel for you pancakes7, especially since what you've been through in your last year of uni that got impacted by Covid really badly. It certainly sucks to be trapped in a room and not be allowed out. Let's hope the lockdown will be over this Thursday, and this will all be over soon.

Perhaps you could give the Beyond Blues Support line a call, they can be reached at 1300 22 4636, and they're available to you 24 hours / 7 days a week. They're very supportive, and can help point you to the right direction. Also keep an eye out on your university's mental health consultants in case there is a slot available there too.

I'm here to listen to you as well pancakes7. Stay Strong!

Jt
