Hey there, I'm in the same boat - came on here because i'm also feeling very low and struggling with daily tasks. I feel you! I can hear your exhausting with the on going family difficulties and finding it hard to get up in the mornings. I really admire that you're doing a lot of things to help yourself out despite your exhaustion, especially still exercising, good on you!! I hope you can feel really proud of yourself for that! I'd be curious to know if you find remedial massage and acupuncture to help? I might give those a try too.

I'm afraid i don't really have many ideas to give you as i'm also struggling and at a loss myself...but i hope it helps to know that you aren't alone. One thing that i like to remind myself of when I'm struggling is that I've survived every single difficult moment/day/stage of my life so far, and it's all helped me to grow and become stronger to deal with new things as i keep on going. If i look back i can see that i've proved to myself there's no emotion or situation that i cannot handle because i'm still standing (or maybe still struggling at times but point is i'm still here) - even if i struggle to handle something i will still survive it and make it through, and i'll learn from it. I hope that you can feel that for yourself too.

Hi Nikki_ 24,
Thank you for your kind words, it means a lot to me.
I do find massage and accupuncture helps. I have an injury, and chronic pain for many years now and I find they both help relax me which is so beneficial in many ways.
Exercising is a real challenge, but when I go for a walk it does help lift my mood. While walking I like to practise enjoying the scenery and try not to think over my problems, difficult at times.
You are right after surviving so much in life I too am still standing, and stronger now.

Guest_630 and Nikki_24 and everyone reading

Thanks for reaching out and sharing your stories. many people reading but who don’t post will relate to both of you and they will be reassured they are not alone.

Nikki thanks for reminding us that although we are struggling we have got through things in the past and that has made us stronger.

I have found that accepting I am struggling and knowing I will get through it has helped me especially in this last year .

Guest_60 I like the way you are being flexible in trying new treatments to see if they work.

I find walking outside helps me but lately when there has been rain every day I just walk around my place. It sounds silly but just moving helps me .

Thanks both of you for sharing your thoughts with us .

hi all and welcome back to those returning.

will be odd to refer to it as last year but 2020 was a fairly bad year for everyone so your feeling low is necessarily because we are doing anything wrong, it is just that recent events add to it. So then to roll out that old chestnut of "you are not alone" does apply. It is a positive that you are finding things that work for you, whether it is walking or acupuncture etc. With something such as walking I sometimes have to force myself to do it. Perhaps setting a goal can be helpful. I was listening to a podcast yesterday that talked about this - feeling low at the end of 2020 after doing all the right things.

Hi smallwolf,
I also like goals and use the mapmywalk app to record my walking progress each week. On weeks when the score is low, I make myself do just a bit each day, and am always glad I made the effort. On todays walk I got soaked.

2020 has been so hard, with many events cancelled and I miss my friends. I am however, so grateful to be in Australia when the news shows Covid case numbers overseas. With bushfires and a pandemic now floods its a year to remember.

Hey, 3 am and Im wide awake. I feel very low tonight and cant stop the tears. Its so stupid really. I heard someone I knew years ago had died, not a friend, but it was the msg of the hurt and cruelty they left behind. My sadness not for the loss of the person but the lack of kindness, caring and compassion in people, and the need to be distrustful of everyone to stay safe now.

Hi Guest_630

I feel for you so much as you face the challenges that come with such a low. There can definitely be a lot of them (challenges), some we're not even aware of.

Sounds like you're incredibly conscious of making positive differences, such as with coming here, the massage, acupuncture, self help and exercise. That's a lot, a lot to be proud of. Being emotional creatures, I believe sometimes we'll feel the differences and sometimes we won't. I swear I spend a % of my life wondering why I can't feel the difference at times. Often, it comes down to either physical and/or emotional exhaustion. Hard to feel when we've got little energy to feel with.

Wondering whether you find life is a bit of an experimentation process. Example, acupuncture alone isn't working, I'll try massage with it. Music's not vibing me up, I'll change the music I'm listening to and even try experimenting with the volume. The greater the volume with some songs, the more emotional the experience. One of my favourite ramp up the volume songs would have to be Lenny Kravitz's 'Are you gonna go my way'. The beat to Scissor Sister's 'I don't feel like dancin' always gets me vibing a little higher. Suppose you'd call it all music therapy.

I find meditation to be a big influence in my life. I'll meditate on just about anything. Yep, I'm a bit of a daydreamer. I'll zone out from life and meditate on the shapes or compositions of clouds, meditate on wonder (wondering why people behave the way they do in the moment), meditate on inspiration (opening my mind to receiving insight, as opposed to focusing on a conditioned type of judgement) and the list goes on when it comes to what's out there to meditate on. I find, it's so important to share life with people who meditate on some of the same things we do, otherwise you're surrounded by people who say stuff like 'Why are you wasting your time on that?!' or 'I don't know why you wonder about that person's behavior when they basically just an a-hole'. Hmmm, the amount of people who can get in our way of us naturally just being our self 🙂 While it's good to be grounded, some folk can really have a way of bringing us down, without us even realising at times. Good to have people around us who are looking to vibe with us at the same level. You know, those 'go to' people, when things get a little too challenging.

Wondering if you have any of those 'go to' people in your life.

🙂

Hi Guest_630

Raising others can definitely get exhausting. Sometimes it's like you can't feel yourself gradually draining of energy until, bamm, you hit near zero levels and think 'What the heck happened there?! Why am I suddenly feeling so low?' While I've found the following a potentially depressing question to ask at times, it is a significant question in the way of recognising how we are cared for: 'Who raises the raiser (of others)?' The first time I gave great thought to this question, it presented an epiphany of sorts. It wasn't the fact that some in my life weren't making a significant difference, it was more so the fact that I wasn't triggering others to raise me when I needed it. So...I began triggering people and found some interesting responses among family and friends.

When I ask the question of others 'If given the chance, how would you raise me in this moment?', I gain insight into their nature. A couple of people I know will typically say 'I don't know' and then just leave it at that. Mmmm, thanks for that. Some will say 'I don't know. How do you want me to raise you or lift your spirits?' By the way, if I knew, I would do it myself. Only a few will think hard about what would really make all the difference to me and they set about making that difference. I always feel that difference. It's amazing how you can be surrounded by people who have the power to make a difference to you but only a few will ever accept the challenge of making that difference. I bet you're the sort of person who does make that difference to others. You're like a light for them, a guide of sorts. This makes you pretty special, indeed 🙂

It's amazing how we can go from 'Why am I not worth the effort' to 'Damn right I'm worth the effort. Why are others so lazy when it comes to making it?' Imagine if folk around us all said 'We have to look after the light, that guide, the one who serves us so beautifully. We must care for the light and always make sure she/he is energised, no matter what this requires of us'.

Never doubt your brilliance in this world, just because others don't know how to take care of it. You will feel when others raise that brilliance in you. You will feel it in a smile they trigger, in a kind word that touches your soul, in an act of service that brings you to life. These are the people who raise us, the ones who make all the difference. I've found the challenge becomes about recognising exactly who those people are in our life.
