Hi Peonie,

Welcome to the community here. Yes, it can be hard moving away from family and all that is familiar.

If you don't mind me asking why did you move and if you don't cope well can you move back again?

Are you in regular contact with family and friends? Can any of them visit you where you are now?

Do you have hobbies and interests you can get involved in within this new area?

Are there clubs and groups you can join to meet new people?

Have you connected with a new Dr who can help you?

We moved a few years ago. I joined different groups. Some worked out well, some didn't. That is okay. I tried.

Just last night I phoned some ladies I now know from Church and invited them to dinner Friday. I am not sure who was more surprised, them or me!

Sometimes I need to step out of the box, give myself a push and look for the good that is around me!

Cheers to you from Dools

Hi all, I've recently moved states after 30 years in the one area, leaving older sons, friends, work and familiarity behind. Am in a lot area, but completely grieving for what I left behind. Have Bipolar 1 and have managed incredibly well for a long time, a few ups and downs but nothing I couldn't resolve..this however is dreadful. I have completely shutdown physically, emotionally and mentally, I put in the smile to do what needs to be done of course but as soon as I'm alone I unengaged completely. I am not a person who does well being alone, but can't even get out of my head atm...has anyone else found moving their lives the same?

Hi, welcome

Our stamping ground is our foundation of harmony. Once we leave it wr are lost. Some van treat it as an adventure but I recall returning from the RAAF and all my friends were married.

Ot might take several years to feel that your nrw location is "home"
