Thank you so much Geoff for your very helpful and supportive response. I am feeling a lot better mentally, and trying to rationalise my thinking to stop these symptoms but I'll be ok. Thanks again 🙂

So I went to a fair last night and ate fresh tuna from a Japanese shop. It’s the first time I can remember eating it, I mean it tasted fine at the time, a weird texture but didn’t really taste ‘fishy’ or anything, but as soon as I ate it I started to worry. Is it ok to eat fresh tuna? I started to overthink it and worry. I have a serious vomiting phobia so I worried I would get food poisoning. I have felt sick ever since eating the tuna and my stomach has mild cramps. I don’t know if this is just my anxiety of my body jasntbagreed with raw/fresh tuna? I mean surely they can’t serve unsafe food but I haven’t eaten fish like that before. I just need some reassurance. Is it good poisoning or just my anxiety speaking?

Hello Tayjayde, welcome to the forums and it must be concerning for you causing your anxiety.

If you are well this morning then you will be OK and nothing to worry about.

I haven't eaten raw tuna either but have out of the tin but all eating places have an obligation to make sure all the food they sell is up to the 'Food and Safety Act', otherwise they will be closed down.

These stomach cramps are from your anxiety, try to stop your worry and eat something that's light for lunch, a bowl of rice or perhaps a salad.

Please let me know how you feel now.

Geoff.
