My question is why do i get panicky and start yelling out in my car when someone drives too close and when walking avoid people and start to talk out loud and if challenged run away or make excuses saying nothing to do with them. It can be very hard having depression and there is no magic formula because everyone is different, I really feel for you. Do you have a professional person you can talk to ? If not call our office on 1300 22 4636 and they will give your resources or there is a link on our website to find professionals.

Hi Jinxy

Good on you for posting and welcome

Ive had chronic anxiety years ago which has subsided..Now depression for the last 21 years, use meds and have worked through it until about 1 year ago

The public system is still free and effective. If you see your GP and find the best way to get a visit.

Back in 1985 I called the council and said I was stuck and unable to leave the house. The organised a mental health care worker to contact me. He was great. He insisted I see him every week for 7 months and helped me get my life back. He was a psychiatric nurse and was one of the best therapists I have ever had.

Im not certain if councils still have mental health workers but your public hospital does. There is no choice of therapist but its still free and will be able to give you the counseling you need.

I hope you can stick around the forums and let us know how you go 🙂 Even if you just need to chat

my kind thoughts for you

Paul

Hello paul thank you for your advice. I will try and seek helpfrom hospital. I am currently revovering from a broken wrist and was stuck at home for seven weeks. Felt trapped and thoughts varied to wondering if taking meds was the way. Felt isolated but now able to get out but still have no direction at the moment.

I do take Medication but have never known how to overcome this issue which has resulted in weight gain which in turn makes me feel down. I do walk a little when arthritic knee lets me but cant get off the eating issue. Am stuck in a rut. I have to do this myself but any info i would appreciate to get me motivated

Still stuck in rut of not knowing really want to do. New complication is my ex husband has moved in due to issues with his wife and they have twin girls aged 12 months. Not sure how long here for. I go to grow group which is for people with mental issues and they question me if i feel used and i really dont know as we had reasonable divorce and still keep in contact. Iam conflicted as i feel ok with him here so far but others who are more objective feel i am being used. How do i decide or go into a business with him which he is working on. I wish i could think what i want out of all this as others think i need to do this. Any suggestions?
