Hi Freddy, welcome to the forum.

I am too mate, an alcoholic who's been sober for six years. And I'm here to help you.

You have done a brave and difficult thing reaching out like that. Well done! You know they say that recognising you have a problem is the first step to overcoming it. You've made that first step.

And you can overcome this. It might be the hardest thing you've ever done - it was for me -but you can do it. There are a few people on the forum like me who have battled the booze and won. We'll help you all the way buddy.

There's thread called Battling the Booze on the Longterm Journeys board. That's where we hang out. Take a look - there's a lot of good info on there.

Can you tell me a bit more about yourself Freddy. I'd like to get to know you. Don't worry about being ashamed or being judged. I suspect I've been pretty much wherever you are in your drinking. 😀

hello Freddy, it's certainly a very brave time for to come onto the site, but please remember there are many other people who have been stuck in the same situation as you are, and this includes me, and was one reason why my wife divorced me.
I'm responding to you to try and make you feel confident, although we don't know of any circumstances, but these can be spoken about bit by bit.
Can I direct you to a post by Kazzl 'battling the booze', which has an enormous amount of people keeping this post alive, so perhaps you could type this in the search bar to open it up.
