Hi, I am just wanting some help dealing with my aniexty. I had it once before like 5 years ago, and at Xmas last year out of no where I had a relapse, since then I am getting anxious all the time, I get most anxious in the car as that were it happened my attack. I hate it, it makes me feel awful everyday, I just want to wake up and smile. Instead I wake up each morning and feel like it groundhog day. I want my life back. My kids need there mum. I feel I can't be there for them as much as I should because of my aniexty. Any advice?

Hi Cori,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing with us x It must be very difficult to live like this and to have this experience that you had years ago. I don't know that much about anxiety but I know that often trauma can be stored in our cellular memory and deep in our memory. It can often just be a certain room or connection that can take our memory and our bodies back to the place of trauma. There is a link on our site for anxiety but also I would recommend seeing your GP and getting an assessment and referral to see a professional. For me deep breathing and yoga and mindfulness can be helpful. We do have the Beyond Blue 'smiling minds app.' I also like to get outside in nature and distract myself when I feel anxious. You can call us on 1300 22 4636 anytime and get resources or let us know and keep in touch on this site. I really feel for you and hope you can feel the best you can again for yourself and for your children. You are not alone. Nikkir x
