dear Hilary, I want to say to you thank you for posting your comment, because I am really so sorry that your brother has passed away, and <G class="gr_ gr_12 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_run_anim Punctuation replaceWithoutSep" id="12" data-gr-id="12">now unfortunately</G> you are left to try and cope with this, plus the thought of your parents leaving you within a week or so, how lonely you must feel, but coming off your antidepressants 6 weeks ago may not help you to try and give the support that you really need, because there are so are many things that happen during our life and when we are incapable of coping with these then we need medical help.
I'm not saying that everybody can naturally handle the loss of someone close to them, that's impossible it can't be done, but being on medication can give you that little bit of help to grieve.
You must love your parents so much as they do with you, they are the part of your life that will always love you, and when they do go back to England, you're not losing them, they will be there to contact you and <G class="gr_ gr_16 gr-alert gr_spell gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling" id="16" data-gr-id="16">now a days</G> this can be done in many ways, much different than it was years ago, although you might have to teach them a <G class="gr_ gr_18 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_run_anim Style only-del replaceWithoutSep" id="18" data-gr-id="18">thing thing</G> or two, so just because they are <G class="gr_ gr_11 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace" id="11" data-gr-id="11">over</G> the other side of the world, you can have them in your <G class="gr_ gr_14 gr-alert gr_spell gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" id="14" data-gr-id="14">loungroom</G>, to ring, to skype.
All we want is to try and get you settled over here in a new environment to make friends like you have on this site. Geoff. x

Hi, my name is Hilary and following the death of my brother 3 years ago I have suffered with depression and anxiety. Good news is I have now been off my anti depressants for 6 weeks, but there are still really bad days. I moved to Australia, from England, not long after my brother died and often wonder whether I made the right choice or not, or whether the depression would be better if I moved back home. My parents are currently out visiting me (they are both originally from Sydney but live in England), but they are leaving in a week and I will miss them very much. Look forward to chatting to you all on these forums 🙂

Hey Hilary, welcome to the forums. Awesome to have you here and you are now part of a very protective, stigma free and welcoming community.

Whenever you feel that you need to chat or ask any questions, please feel free to jump into the forums and post away. Can almost guarantee that there will be others in here that are in reasonably the same type of situation that you are in.

Moving to the other side of the world is a massive decision and you made that and did that. You clearly have a good level of resilience to enable this achievement to be completed so back yourself in. The doubts in your mind may be real but it also may have to do with the depression and coming off meds. See how you go after a duration of time off the meds.

Again, welcome to the forums. Great to have you with us.

Mark.
