Hi Ifonly2. The dark cloud you mentioned is a form of depression. Anxiety is a part of depression so you're on a roller coaster of emotions which are controlling your life. The mixture of alcohol and medication is not a good combination. Alcohol on it's own when we're feeling down, often makes it worse, because alcohol can be a depressant. You need help to remove the dark cloud. The strength to remove it is as powerful as the cloud itself. I would like to suggest you seek professional help from a Dr who possibly might suggest counselling/therapy. Are you on a farm or acreage and isolated from other people? Do you have a regular Dr you could see? If you don't, at the top of this page is a 'get support' heading. If you 'click' on that, there might be something there that would guide you to get the help you require.

Hi,

I hope that by joining this community I can get some clarification and help to my feelings and advice on how I can remove this present dark cloud and find the motivation to help my self. I mainly suffer from anxiety mostly social and in turn that gives me depression. I self medicate with alcohol daily and it is making me worse, although I can't stop it. I have 2 young children and I have a great life on the land. I have self loathing about every part of me but just can't seem to do anything about it. I mainly suffer in silence although my husband knows part of it and does not understand. I really want to be happy and confident and help would be appreciated. I currently take medication for anxiety but feel like it has run its course? Thank you for reading 😶
